The homestay was clean and had toiletries, and there's a convenience store close by. It's well located for Golden Hill Night Market, just a short walk away. I'd highly recommend it for families with small children.

We had to sleep on a wooden plank, and the sheets were stained. The place seemed to get a high rating because people were rating the night market next door instead of the hotel. Stay away! Edit: The owner asked for proof, so I've added pictures. The place was more or less clean, but the bed is impossible to sleep on and most of the utilities are stained.

Golden Hills is the new spot for the night market, between Tanah Rata and Brinchang. It's worth a visit for local food, culture, and produce like strawberries, honey, and corn. A lot of the stalls do repeat themselves.

The food gets repetitive, but the market's still worth a look for the atmosphere. The banana fritters and sweet potato balls are worth trying.

Local food and vegetables are easy to find here, and they're cheap :) It's just across from where we're staying. #tgif was good.
