The pace at this FH is slow and quiet, and it was nice to walk around if you’re used to hiking. Our unit was in Block A with lift access. One room’s window was level with water dripping from the building, and the constant sound bothered light sleepers. The weather was humid and cold, around 16-22 degrees Celsius, so our bath towels never dried. It rained at night while we were there. The location is strategic, and the apartment is managed across several platforms, including Airbnb.

We had a great mountain vibe at Silverpark Resort and will definitely come back, hopefully for five days and four nights. It was our first trip to Fraser hills, and the security was great. We stayed in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit with a microwave, fridge, utensils, and cookware. We brought ingredients for BBQ and steamboat, and eating hotpot in the 16 degree cold was a lovely experience. All the attractions are nearby.

The only thing to keep in mind is that B5-5-1 has no lift, so getting to the unit means climbing stairs. It may not suit elderly visitors or anyone with knee problems. We booked through agodahomes and really liked the place: two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, one with a queen bed and the other with two queen beds. Check-in is self-service at the guard house, parking is available in front of each block, and it’s very quiet. There’s also a noise policy after 10.00pm.

The fast wifi was a plus, but this unit wasn’t worth the money. I booked the two-night Agoda stay in an Air bnb unit, Block C3-6-1, and there was no lift to the 6th floor. On Friday night I was alone in the whole block, with no cars outside, which I hadn’t expected. The second night felt better with a few other occupants around. From outside the unit looked okay, but closer up it wasn’t clean and had quite a bit of rubbish, especially mineral water bottles and a cigarette butt in the balcony planter box. Some lights didn’t work and there weren’t enough plug points. The old TV had no programs, Netflix, or YouTube. They provided an iron but no board, lol. The old-style storage-tank hot water needed to be switched on 30 minutes before use.

The room was good, and with the cold weather up there, usually below 25° most of the time, there’s no need for air conditioning. The downside was the bath heater: it only stayed hot for five minutes, then dropped back to a mild temperature.
