Sura Inn

The room worked well for divers coming and going at odd hours, and there’s a place to hang scuba gear and clothes. It’s close to Dungun town, eateries, and parking is available. The rates were reasonable, and the owner was accommodating even with a late check-in and early checkout. Payment was easy too. I’d stay again for a trip to Pulau Tenggol or Dungun. Thanks to the owner.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and I slept well during my one-night stop on a bicycle tour across Malaysia. Arol and Haziq were the real highlight. They made sure I had what I needed, and even drove me to and from the laundromat after I asked where the nearest one was. There’s a nice restaurant next door; they spoke with the chef for me and suggested a dish. I’d come back.

I’m from Seremban and was traveling around Southeast Asia. Before reaching Dungun, I booked Sura inn through TRIP .com. When I arrived to check in at 3pm on 7th April 2026, the front desk told me my room had no air conditioner and the toilet was outside the room. I turned it down, then was told an air-conditioned room would cost an extra Rm58. If I canceled the booking, there’d be no refund. I moved to another hotel and got none of my money back.

We were two adults and four kids staying for one night. The room was nicely decorated, and the whole place was clean and well kept. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. The receptionist was courteous and helpful, which added to a very good stay. I’d happily recommend this place.
