Day & Night Guesthouse

For what I paid, about $10 a night for a double room, things were mostly okay apart from two issues. There was a mouse, though it didn't worry us much, and sometimes a smell came from the toilet, apparently when the wind blew from the south. It was fine, but next trip I'd rather spend more.

My sister booked a van-bus from Penang to Krabi, but they dropped her in Hat Yai and told her to wait until the next day because they said there wasn't a bus to Krabi then. They also offered her a room for the night at a price. I called, but they couldn't understand English. I heard them speaking Thai and saying I didn't understand what they were saying. I got angry and demanded they take her to the bus terminal and pay for her ticket. They kept insisting there were no buses, then asked for another 100 Baht for a bus leaving an hour later. After a long argument, and with my poor Thai and their lack of English, I had no choice but to have my sister pay and wait another three hours.

I just stopped in for a drink. The beer costs about the same as at 7/11, and the people were friendly.
