We stayed a couple of days in a family room. It was a little dated, but very clean, with good AC, a kettle, and a tidy bathroom with nice towels. The staff were always smiling, really friendly, and helpful. Just what you need for a budget stay.

The room and bathroom were spotless, with new furniture and a modern, minimalist look. The location was handy for shopping and plenty of places to eat. Staff were warm and attentive, especially when helping my mother, who uses a wheelchair. For the affordable price, the hotel was better than I expected, and I’d gladly stay at Grand FC Hotel again on a trip to Penang.

On 7/7/25, I appreciated the convenient parking, spacious room, and Cuckoo water dispenser on each floor. Returning on 22/2/26, the bed had become lumpy and the springs squeaked after all these years. I hope the owner replaces them. I was bitten by a bed bug in room 311, so they moved me to another room straight away. It was the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse.

Padang Kota, with its well-known local food spots and public park, is only 2km away. Line Clear is about 190m from the hotel and Hameediyah about 210m. The mosque is nearby too, which made it easy to attend Friday prayers on a busy day.

Self check-in was easy, and the price and location were good. There are more breakfast options nearby on weekends. Parking is free but limited. It was fairly quiet, though we could hear doors banging in the morning. Cleanliness was 4/5 on my first stay in 2024 and 3/5 when I returned in 2025.
