Mclane Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was pretty bare-bones, with nothing to get excited about or look forward to. The stay itself was okay, though, and I'd come back for the really great location. Nasi Kandar Imegresen is right across from the hotel.

The hosts we met were lovely and gave us helpful food recommendations, which was useful with so many choices and so little time in Penang. Our rooms were clean, looked after, and well stocked, with the option of fresh bedding and towels and cleaning each day. Breakfast was offered daily at no extra charge, though we didn't have any. We paid around rm350 for three nights over a weekend, a brilliant price, and were pleasantly surprised as we hadn't expected much for that amount. The hotel sits within easy walking distance of George Town's main attractions. It's a lovely place in a perfect location, and we'd choose it first next time we're back.

I was here for 10 days and even managed to do my laundry. Great value for money and an excellent location. The staff were incredibly friendly, thank you Elyn.

The room was basic but clean, and I slept well because it was quiet at night. The bed was extremely comfortable, with good linen and pillows. The shower pressure was excellent, the air conditioning worked very well without being noisy, and there was a mini fridge. They left 3 in 1 coffee sachets each day, and the TV had a few English channels. I had a Superior Room, and I'd rate it 5/5. Nick was extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful, also 5/5. The location is excellent, close to the main attractions but in a quiet area. Reception is staffed from 09:00 to 23::00. If you arrive outside those hours, there's a self check-in area, as shown in the photo. There's also a separate laundry area, see the photos for more information. Overall, 5/5.
