Summertime Maritime Suites

Unit 083A was in terrible condition. It hadn’t been professionally cleaned before check-in: there was hair everywhere, including on the bed linen, and the kitchenware was dirty, with obvious stains on the bowls and plates. Some bowls were broken and unusable. There was dust inside the wardrobe, the furniture was run down, and paint flakes had fallen from the ceiling. The shower room leaked, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, the washing machine pipe leaked, and the bathroom walls and floor had mold. The living room AC was broken, and a damaged stair posed an injury risk to children. The shower gel was an unknown product kept in a large plastic bottle, while what appeared to be store-bought shampoo had been put into assorted used bottles. It looked cheap and raised hygiene concerns. Dust from the poorly kept unit seemed to be attracting plaster bagworms, which came from the ceiling and furniture and fell onto the bed. I was worried they could trigger allergic reactions in children. The host seemed to address problems only after guests complained, rather than keeping the unit in good condition. The building was poorly managed too. One or more lifts were always out of service, security left the secured door open so people could roam through the building, and the swimming pool didn’t seem to be cleaned daily. Many pool tiles were broken and could cut someone. The gym was poorly maintained and smelled unpleasant and moldy, making it impossible to work out there.

The hotel itself was okay, but the person in charge asked me for a RM200 deposit and said it would be refunded within three working days after checkout. I kept messaging, but got no real reply, just “thanks noted.” It’s been two weeks and the money still hasn’t been returned. Anyone renting from him should stay alert.

We had to spend the whole first night without water, and nobody could fix it until the next day. The room facilities were that bad. There was no refund, and we had to keep asking to move rooms for the second night. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The only thing I liked was being close to the sea, with a great ocean view. The rest was one of my worst stays. The area didn’t feel like a luxury place at all: the basement parking was poor and unpleasant, the surroundings were dirty, the lift smelled, and the door was broken with a filthy carpeted floor. It also had a scary vibe and felt like a horror experience. There are lots of bars nearby, so it can get a bit noisy at night. Not worth the money, and I’ll never stay again or recommend it.
