The room and toilet were clean, the staff were kind and helpful, and that view is stunning. The location's very convenient too. The bed, though, felt like an earthquake was happening, hehe. 4.5/5.

For 25 MYR a night, this place is cheaper than other hostels with similar upkeep, and the location and amenities make it good value. The mixed dorm has air-conditioning, a private bathroom with a separate shower and toilet, wooden lockers with keys, plus a hair dryer and a little getting-ready table with lots of mirrors. Irons are available on every floor. There's a big kitchen, though it's a bit dirty, and free hot and cold water. The common area has a billiards table too. Don't miss the big rooftop, the bay view is great. It wasn't very social, but I still met nice people to chat with in passing. I'd definitely recommend it.

There were ants all over the room and bed, and they kept biting me through the night so I couldn't sleep. The hostel was extremely dirty. When I complained, staff told me to call the manager, but the number they gave me just rang without anyone answering. The service felt completely unprofessional, with poor cleanliness and no real management support. I wouldn't recommend The 60 Hotel in George Town.

I had a very early start, but after getting bitten in my bed I slept in a lower bed that was empty. At checkout, the staff were still asleep, so I called the number on the wall and got no answer. I had to wake someone, who was rude and shut the door in my face. When I asked for my deposit, he told me to wait, then came upstairs and said I was in big trouble for using the wrong bed. I explained about the bites, but he denied there were any and blamed me. I had tried to tell someone, but everyone had been asleep. He said he needed to call his boss, then took ages to return my money. He said he couldn't give it back because he needed two ringo from me. I said he owed me 28 and I wanted it then, and he threw it at me. Three other people at the hostel were also making complaints about how they were treated, so it wasn't just me. There were other problems too. The electric shower charger socket didn't work, although my charger worked fine in another socket. When I mentioned it, a staff member was rude and made out it was my fault. He then woke up another traveler who was sleeping, and asked whether I'd used that traveler's pocket socket. Of course I hadn't, it wasn't my bed and he was asleep. There was no hot water in the shower either. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. The staff were rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOSTEL. THEY TREAT YOU LIKE SHIT!!! I'm making it clear.
