The Granite Luxury Hotel

The pink-themed Diva Suite was especially cute and would be great for a girls’ staycation or celebration. Our room at The Granite Luxury Hotel was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the facilities were well maintained in a cozy setting. Yugi was friendly and helpful, and made check-in smooth. We appreciated the team’s warm hospitality. We had a very enjoyable stay in Penang and would recommend the hotel for a stylish, comfortable visit.

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, a short walk from the mall across the street, food, and public buses. The free CAT bus runs from Komtar to the jetty. We stayed during CNY, and our suite was ready before 2 p.m. The front desk staff were nice and courteous. The Baroque Suite was clean and had a small kitchen with a kettle, illy coffee pods and machine, microwave, and small fridge. It had cups and drinking and wine glasses, but no dishes. The sofa bed was stiff and had no padding, so even though we wanted to sit and rest there, we ended up using the dining chairs. It’s a small thing, but I hope management looks into it. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning, but left only one TWG breakfast teabag, one green tea bag, and two illy coffee pods daily. I hope they’ll provide at least two of each tea for a suite with two people. I asked the night manager for a couple more tea bags and replacement bedroom slippers for the next day, but that wasn’t done. There’s a water station on every floor. The gym and pool are on the 14th floor. I usually used the gym at 7 a.m., when it opens daily. I saw other guests trying to take the lift to the 14th floor before then, but there was no access until 7:02 a.m. It would be nice if the gym opened an hour earlier for early birds.

The hotel is in a fantastic spot, with plenty of good food within walking distance. We stayed in a Classic business suite, which had lots of space, a living room, and a kitchen. Everything was clean and comfortable, the air-conditioning was cold, and the shower had strong pressure. After a long day of walking, that shower felt so good. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and polite, always greeting us with a smile. They even surprised us with a handwritten birthday card and a slice of cake, which was really thoughtful. A couple of small things could be better: the plastic chairs in the living room squeaked loudly, and we could faintly hear pickleball from the court downstairs. If you’re a very light sleeper, it may be worth asking which rooms get less outside noise. I’d stay here again next time I’m in Penang.

A good stay overall. The staff spoke well and were humble. Mr Vikneswaran handled the parking area very well, guided us, and was polite and well mannered. Room service staff member Ady was also friendly and well mannered, and helped carry our things. One thing we’d suggest is adding a smart TV for convenience.
