Alhamdulillah, such a good experience! Thanks for making things easy for me. You even suggested a decorator, though you weren't available for decorations that day. The room was tiptop clean, and the bathtub was big. We were really happy with the room even for a one-night stay, and breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly overall, and my kids loved the pool. It's kid-friendly, not deep, and just right for them. We'll definitely come back to Vouk when we visit Penang ❤️❤️

I found blood stains on the bed, the floor was dirty, and there was a strong smell of smoke in the toilet. Cleanliness should be a basic standard. I hope management improves the housekeeping.

I stayed two nights, from 10th Feb till 12th Feb 2026, for RM400++. The superior room had a partial sea view. Breakfast was included for two, along with complimentary drinks for two that could be redeemed beside the reception counter. There's a tourism tax of rm3/night for local visitors. The hotel was well maintained and smelled nice on the way to the room. There's a swimming pool, and breakfast had a variety of choices and a coffee machine.

The room conditions were unacceptable, and the service was poor, so my husband and I left within an hour of checking in on 16-Feb-2026 after a long drive, hoping to rest. The female receptionist was unwelcoming and seemed to lack basic communication skills. Check-in felt unprofessional for a 4-star hotel. The room smelled strange, and within an hour I developed a terrible cough. That raised serious concerns for me about air quality and hygiene. There were visible stains, mold and grime in the bathroom, including on the tiles and around the drains. The bedsheets were stained, and the curtains were torn and had holes. Given the room's condition, we were genuinely worried there might be roaches or insects. Room cleanliness and bed comfort were poor, as were the toiletries and housekeeping. The amenities were average, and air conditioning was uncertain since I was there only an hour. Noise levels were N/A. The staff were unhelpful and unprofessional, and didn't respond well to requests. Language proficiency was adequate. I checked in at 3:00 PM on 16 February 2026 and checked out at 4:00 PM the same day. We didn't use the restaurant or breakfast because we left early, and didn't use the swimming pool, gym or other facilities. I would never return or recommend this hotel. For a 4-star property, cleanliness, hygiene and professionalism should be basic standards. With the air quality issues we experienced, I wouldn't recommend this kind of room to anyone unwell, with respiratory problems, elderly, or young children, because it may pose health risks. No staff member checked whether things were okay or asked about our experience, which was disappointing and showed little concern for guests.
