The host gave us the apartment entrance password and left the key in the room, which showed a remarkable amount of trust in guests. She was friendly and trustworthy, and the rooms and shared bathrooms were clean. Check-in and checkout were flexible too, so we could leave whenever suited us.

The owner was kind and very welcoming, and offered guidance and suggestions for places to eat. It’s a comfortable spot to spend time, suitable for families and younger guests. The mattress is hard and the WiFi a little weak.

Family matters meant I couldn’t stay when planned. I picked up the room key that afternoon, then only returned it two days later, and she didn’t charge me anything. That kind of humanity feels rare these days. Thanks so much.

There are plenty of good Chinese food options around the place. The rooms are clean and fine for the price, and while it’s a little far from downtown, getting there by bus is easy.

A great base for checking out Ipoh’s food. The dorm is on the 3rd floor in a quiet spot, with no road traffic at night. There’s WiFi, and good coffee and food downstairs in the residence food court. The owner is warm and friendly, and will store luggage for a few days if you need. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in Ipoh. See you again.
