Check-in and checkout were quick, and famous eateries were just a short walk away. I had a double queen bed room on the top floor, though the stay had several problems. There was only a bottle of shower cream, no other basic amenities, and the TV didn’t work. Soundproofing was terrible, so for two nights I couldn’t sleep properly because of car and motorbike engines outside. The mattress was old and sagged at the edge. Irons were available outside the rooms on Levels 1 and 2, and there was only one water dispenser on the ground level.

The bed had lots of tiny cockroaches, and an unpleasant smell came out when I opened the door. The room was in very poor condition, and staying there with my two toddlers felt risky. It was far too small for the price. There was no free WI-FI, no basic amenities, the towels were old and dirty, and there was no housekeeping. When I asked a housekeeper to take out the rubbish, she handed me a plastic bag to replace it, so I ended up doing both jobs myself. There was no receptionist or front desk in charge, no basic bills were given, and the TV was out of service. Parking was very hard to find during the day. I wouldn’t recommend anyone book a place like this. Worst hotel I’ve ever visited, and not worth a single penny I paid.

The location is hard to beat, right between the train station and old town. David (boss?) and Win at reception were really friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable, the hot shower worked well, the air con was cold, and there was drinking water in the kitchen. It’s a shame the TVs don’t work, but I still give it 5.

The city center felt like a quiet oasis. You can walk to the train station, and there’s a bus stop just around the corner.

There are lots of photo spots nearby, and Concubine Lane is only a 5 minute walk away. The train station is about a 10-15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. The room was clean and good, and you can ask the receptionist for amenities if you need them. Great location and value.
