Gergasi Inn

The room is spacious and worth the price, nice for one night or a short stay. There are no lifts, so it's best to bring only what you need upstairs. The iron, kettle, and hairdryer are provided outside the room, and there's a water filter by reception. We had a little run-in with a few cockroaches 🤣🪳, so cleanliness could be improved. Towels for guests would be a nice addition. Otherwise, it was nice.

The building is well built, and the room was cool and clean enough to stay in. Still, maintenance and service could be better. There isn't a lift, and even though it's just one floor, the stairs are hard to manage with luggage. The room wasn't very clean either, with a dead cockroach on the floor. The kettle is kept on a shelf outside the room.

The room was huge, with two king-size beds and two 1 hp air conditioners. Parking is monitored, though the TV wouldn't turn on during my visit. At check-in, I was told all the housekeeping staff had taken EL, so there was a bit of a delay, but that was sorted out later. Towels weren't available because of laundry service problems. There was no plain or mineral water in the room, no 3 in 1 coffee, and no mini bar or refrigerator.

The staff were polite, and check-in went smoothly. When the first double room was taking too long to cool, they promptly moved us after we asked. But the tables and other surfaces looked dusty, there were no toiletries or coffee sachets, and the iron and board were out in the corridor. We also found the pillows and mattress uncomfortable. My family and I stayed in March 2023, and I wouldn't want to stay more than one night. Maybe it's okay in an emergency, but there are plenty of other hotels in Ipoh.
