Golden Roof Hotel Sunway Ipoh

The hotel is simply set up and a little old and tired, but it was surprisingly clean and tidy, with a comfortable, decent stay. Staffs were extremely cool and friendly. Its location in the centre of the Tambun commercial area puts colleges, fast food, restaurants, and many other shops close by. A pleasant surprise and a good budget option for solo travellers in Tambun. Recommended 👍⭐️

The walls let you hear what's going on outside the room. Still, the rooms felt cozy and comfortable and met my standard. The standard twin room had a table and TV, and there's a hanger even though there's no closet. The bathroom sink is a bit worrying, though it doesn't look like it's about to fall onto the floor. It's very near Value Market and the Themepark.

The room was quite run down, although the bed and towel were clean. There was also a used shampoo bottle in the bathroom from a previous guest. I booked a room with windows through Agoda, but first they said those rooms were being renovated and couldn't be provided. Later, they said it was their policy to give window rooms to anyone they wanted and that they had no plans to give one to an Agoda customer. They also blamed Agoda for not updating its system.

It was fine for sleeping. The twin room was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the beds were comfortable, though the pillows were too soft. The kettle, hair dryer, and water heater all worked. Soundproofing is poor, especially when guests are moving in or out.
