There’s lift access to the rooms. Both the evening and morning receptionists were very helpful during my overnight stay.

The location is right in the heart of Ipoh, with dim sum restaurants, Ipoh Parade, a hawker centre, and Ipoh new town all walkable. At night, you need a card to enter the lobby from outside, which felt like a good security measure. Staff were approachable and helpful, and the simple room was clean. A water dispenser by the ground floor lift was a big plus. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow, and the TV had local channels. There are two free parking spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. We had a wonderful stay.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times, but this was the first time check-in became such a hassle. I gave the staff my name and said the booking was through Agoda, yet they asked me to show the booking ID in the app before they could process it. At a nearby three- to four-star hotel, I only had to give my name and ID/IC, and the staff had the booking on paper, so that check-in was quick and smooth. I was also unhappy about paying a RM 100 deposit for two nights and three days, even though it was refundable upon checkout on the first day. The other hotel I stayed at last May 2025 charged only RM 50 and didn’t collect CPT, most likely because it was included in the room payment.

Foh San and Ming Court are about a minute’s walk away, with other places to eat nearby. We also walked from Ipoh Old Town, starting at Plan B cafe, in around 15 to 20 minutes. We stayed one night, 16-17 Dec 2024, in room 212, a triple room for our family of three. It’s a basic, no-frills hotel that offers an affordable, comfortable stay. The room was spacious and satisfactorily clean. Staff were polite and professional, and we slept well without hearing traffic or noise from outside. The pillows were too soft for me, but the firm mattress made up for it. The TV had basic local channels, and there was a mini fridge that we didn’t use, along with shower gel, conditioner shampoo, towels, toilet rolls, bottled water, cups, and an electric kettle. A hot and cold water dispenser is in the lift lobby. The shower pressure was good and the temperature adjustable. Irons and hair dryers are available to borrow, though we didn’t use that service. My other gripe was the lack of power outlets. There was just one by the bed, so we had to unplug the fridge to use another.
