PoP Kitty Octagon Ipoh Homestay

It's convenient for getting to all the tourist spots around town. The pool wasn't working, though that was a building maintenance issue and not their fault. I killed two cockroaches on the first day. The units looked clean, so it's hard to say where they came from. Still, it was a good stay.

The person we were in touch with was polite and helpful. We never met in person, but they kept us informed over WhatsApp before, during and after the stay. The location is very convenient, right in the town centre, with grocery shops and places to grab food nearby. Our room and bathroom were clean, spacious for two, and well equipped. Since the apartments start on the 9th floor, we had a lovely view over town. The gym and pool facilities are nice, and there's even a proper running track. The building's shared areas could use some work, though. The corridors have tall gray railings that aren't very appealing.

Stay on a higher floor and you might get a view across the whole of Ipoh. There's a pool, gym and parking inside the building, and nearby landmarks are easy to reach, especially if you're here for food. The famous chicken rice and fried noodles are just a three-minute walk away.

The apartments are well equipped, and a three-bedroom unit that sleeps eight for Rm400 a night is good value. The location is handy for many famous Ipoh food spots, including tau fu far, bean sprouts chicken, salted chicken, local biscuits and pastries, and fruit.
