The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary at Banjaran Hotspring on 29 May 2026. The forest walk and the entrance to the Tambun Resort were superb, and we really enjoyed the room, facilities and generous breakfast. The hotel staff were very hospitable too. As coffee lovers, we’d appreciate another look at the coffee served around the facilities, including at breakfast in Pamelo and at the library. The balance between milk and coffee was a bit off, and a good cup to start the day means a lot to us. Thank you for your attention.

The lush greenery, quiet pools and soothing thermal springs made it easy to feel at peace here. The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and every part of the property has a rejuvenating atmosphere. A great place to unwind, reconnect with nature and let go of everyday stress. Highly recommended for a natural escape and some holistic relaxation.

The landscaped gardens looking out toward the jungle-covered cliffs make this place feel much farther away than 20 minutes from Ipoh city centre. We paid 350 RM each for day passes and felt it was worth every cent. There are several pools for the hot springs, plus cliff saunas, and a lovely pool where you can sit and relax. The entrance also includes 150 RM aim vouchers for the nice on-site restaurant. This place is unique, and I’m glad we added it to our Malaysia trip.

We brought the family for the 10am-7pm day pass, and most of the day felt peaceful and calm. The place is beautiful, Pomelo served excellent food, and the staff were quick, attentive and helpful without hovering. Prices are high, as you’d expect at this resort. It got quite rowdy when a large family arrived, though. The pool has several very large sections of loose tiles, with hundreds of them. At this price and for a resort of this calibre, that’s unacceptable. The gym is also in poor shape, with puzzle foam mats, a few treadmills and bikes, and some dumbbells. They charge 200-300rm for health and fitness consultations and 350rm for personal training, so those facilities feel inadequate for the price. Still, we all had a positive experience and might come back, but we’d avoid the pool and use the much better equipped gym at the hotel next door.
