The shower had good water pressure, but the water was shut off for a few hours one night. There are two bedrooms, though one has no window, and outside traffic was quite noisy at night.

The Octagon is right in central Ipoh, with lots of well-known restaurants and food shops within walking distance. The rooms are well maintained and have good amenities. It’s run as an Airbnb residence, with free, secure parking.

The location is very convenient for restaurants, shops, the night market, a dhoby, dessert houses, and local product stores. There are plenty of lifts, too. The Octagon Airbnb rooms are old but generally maintained well, although the railings, doors, and shared areas were dusty or dirty. Parking is available, but getting in and around the car park is awful. It’s narrow, and the signs are sparse or easy to miss, so you can drive past a turn.

The customer service was lousy. The bath towels, bedsheets, and pillows had hygiene issues, and there was no internet even though they claimed it was provided. The only thing they did well was keep reminding me to check out on time.
