I really like the wood flooring, and everyone has to leave their shoes or slippers off, so the floors stay cleaner and you don’t have to bring them into your room. They also don’t ask for a deposit, though that wouldn’t have been an issue for me. There are around 20 rooms but only four bathrooms. My favorite toilet was the one beside the staff washing machine. If you have good or expensive shoes, you’ll need to take them off and bring them into your room. That’s all for now.

The bed is comfortable, and the location is convenient. It’s a good fit for solo travelers or people in town for business. The rooms are separated by drywall, though, so they aren’t soundproof. I could hear neighboring guests snoring and talking on the phone.

Two years ago I stayed at warm blanket and had a nice experience, apart from a little noise because the rooms were partitioned. This time, I regretted coming back. The hygiene was poor, and they didn’t seem to care about providing a clean environment for guests. When I checked in, I was greeted by cockroaches, dried insects and lizards stuck on the windows, among other things. I was told I couldn’t cancel because I’d just paid. Staff said the insects came from outside and they couldn’t do anything, even though there were spider webs in the room corners. That sounded like bullshit to me. They hadn’t done a good job and were blaming insects from outside. I think they’d been nesting under the bed for years. You might see one cockroach, but there could be thousands hiding somewhere. Maybe charge an extra RM10 per room per night to hire a full-time cleaner, and I might come back in the future.

Don’t book this hotel if you expect to check in after 11 p.m. I arrived at 1:30 a.m., hoping to sleep after a warm bath, only to find the hotel had closed on me. I ended up sheltering at a nearby 7 eleven for the night, and thankfully the staff let me rest inside the store.
