Harmony Valley Retreat

We came for a romantic break and enjoyed the calm, nature-filled setting. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, including the bathroom and balcony, and relaxing on the balcony was a highlight. There are some drawbacks: the lobby and interiors feel dated and could use a contemporary update, and the TV didn’t work. I also wished there were meal options for both dinner and breakfast. The breakfast provided was disappointing. We still enjoyed our stay and would return, as the place has real potential. I hope the owner considers updating the decor and amenities.

I really enjoyed my stay at Harmony Valley and only got back yesterday. The rooms and whole house setup were lovely, and the place felt welcoming. It’s not too far from KL, yet a great spot to be close to Mother Nature. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely visit again soon.

We checked in on 13/9/2025, but checked out that same day and had to find another place at the last minute. After spending 4 hours stuck at the Gombak toll to get there, that was especially frustrating. The Agoda ads felt misleading, almost scammy: we expected the building shown in the photos, then were told our room was actually five minutes away. The place looked like a half-finished project, with abandoned sheds, an old motorcycle dumped outside and a neglected-looking building. The room felt like a budget hotel setup, with no fans, cheap weathered rattan balcony chairs and no attention to detail. Internet was basically nonexistent and kept dropping out. Selling “connect with nature” doesn’t excuse not putting in proper routers or repeaters; it came across as lazy and half-assed. There was no peace or privacy on the balcony either, because it sat right next to the neighbour’s, close enough that every conversation was uncomfortably audible. We felt completely cheated, demanded a refund, and wouldn’t recommend spending your time, money or frustration here.

We expected an ordinary rainforest resort, but the view from our balcony surprised us. The setting in isolated kg Janda Baik, far from the city, was peaceful and environmentally friendly, and we felt the stay was worth the money. The room has no air conditioning, yet the natural airflow kept it cool. There are mini games for families and a few tables where groups of friends can sit and relax. Guests can also explore a mini farm with different plants and animals. Breakfast fell a little short of our expectations, but the staff quickly sorted things out for us. That response was the best part of the stay. Thanks to the Harmony Valley team for their hospitality and for making it such a memorable experience.
