Belllo Hotel JB Central

We booked a room for four, but the bed was only big enough for one person, and the sofa bed had three broken legs out of four. I felt awful having our children sleep there. The hygiene was a real problem too: dust everywhere, a bad moldy smell, and it looked like a place where finding a rat wouldn’t be surprising. The hallway reeked of cigarettes, and the bar-like place outside was so loud it made us uneasy. I canceled right away and moved to another hotel. Save yourself the trouble and choose somewhere else from the start.

There’s plenty going on around this centrally located commercial building, with restaurants in front and lots of convenience stores for snacks. The road is narrow and not great, so traffic jams can make access difficult. Parking is in the next building, a bit of a walk away. The room was okay and the air conditioning worked well, but I had to go to the lobby to get an iron. The elevator is a hassle: after the door closes, it opens again, then closes and moves. Otherwise, it was okay, I guess.

Being near JB Sentral was about the only upside. The surrounding area felt dirty, poorly kept, and sleazy, and I wouldn’t choose it for a family or a woman traveling alone. Our first room was filthy, with mold and black grime on the bathroom tiles and glass door. The TV didn’t work, and a power point was dead. We switched rooms, but the second had no refrigerator, a broken safe, another faulty outlet, and no phone to call reception. The next morning there was no water, so we couldn’t even flush the toilet. We complained and asked to cancel the rest of our stay, but reception said there could be no refund because we booked through Agoda. The receptionist kept saying nothing could be done and that they were still waiting for the plumber. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Avoid it.

I stayed at Belllo Hotel JB Central from 7-11 November 2025 and accidentally left my black Samsung Galaxy Tab with a pink Labubu case in the room. After checkout, Find My Mobile showed its location still inside the hotel. I contacted the front desk, but they only said it was “missing,” with no proper investigation or follow-up. I’ve filed a police report in Johor Bahru and emailed management the evidence. It’s very disappointing, and I’d urge future guests to keep a close eye on their belongings.
