Crystal Crown Hotel

The shower head seems past its best: water sprays in all directions, and the pressure is poor. Otherwise, the rooms were generally bright, spacious, and clean. Check-in was quick. The beds were firm, while the pillow was a little too soft for my taste. Breakfast was basic, with a mix of Asian and Western food. The location is easy to find beside the main road, with plenty of eateries, a car wash, massage places, and KSL mall nearby.

I came for a one-day seminar and didn’t book a room. The location is easy to reach, with plenty of free parking around the area. I had breakfast at their Chatter Coffee House. The food was average, with the usual choices: Nasi Lemak, porridge, Roti Canai, Mee Rebus, fried noodles, toast, and standard breakfast drinks. The ambience was okay, though the interior decor felt a bit dated.

We arrived at Crystal Crown Hotel around 4pm on 6/12 after booking and paying through Agoda on 5/12, only to be told there was no reservation in the system. The receptionist said someone from reservations had to check, so we waited in the lobby for half an hour. When I asked again at 4:30, she said we might have to wait at least another hour because the manager was resting. That lack of coordination and urgency was unacceptable, especially since the problem wasn't ours to cause. We eventually gave up and booked a room at a nearby hotel, where we were treated much better. Since Crystal Crown was already paid for, we lost that money. A very disappointing experience, and we won't be back. I can't recommend it.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were good too. KSL mall is only about a five minute walk, so the location worked well. The hotel could use some upgrading, though. At night the WiFi was so poor I had to switch to mobile data, and the aircon didn't feel strong enough. The TV was too small to see properly from the bed.
