Danga bay getaway: 3 bedroom and 3 bathrooms Beach, dining and shopping

Staying in unit 1D-22-07 was a horrible experience. It's listed on Airbnb and managed by Jen (please see the photo attached to this review). Several things were broken: the toilet and shower, and I couldn't connect to the internet. I asked the owner to fix it, but she didn't do so quickly or properly. After I returned the access card and had communicated politely at checkout, Jen threatened to call the police. The unit owner kept sending blaming and complaining messages through WhatsApp and Airbnb, even though I had returned the card and paid the compensation fee. Stay away from this unit at all costs. If you get into trouble, contact the police immediately.

Inside the studio, the scent was pleasant, the space was clean and roomy, and there were enough places to seat perhaps 15 adults at once. Netflix had an issue, but the host fixed it within minutes. The bathroom drainage was poor, though: after about five minutes in the shower, my feet were in my own bath water. I told the host, but we couldn't find a time that worked for the helper to check it. The air conditioner had a loud hum, but as a heavy sleeper I didn't mind. I was on the 17th floor, next to a unit with a pungent dog mess smell in the corridor. A tiny chihuahua barked annoyingly around the clock, though I couldn't hear it inside my unit. Outside, the parking lot felt like a maze, with a foul smell on every floor and worst near the entrance, puddles all around, and wastewater dripping onto my car from my parking space. Going against traffic would have made the trip up multiple floors take twice as long. For check-in and checkout, I had to collect and return the access cards at the mamak downstairs.

The apartment was so unpleasant that we couldn't wait to leave, and didn't even ask for a late checkout or extension. Coming out of the lift, there was a bad smell and an eerie corridor. Inside, the house smelled musty, with poor ventilation, and the host should put in an air freshener. The balcony could have been a place to relax, but it was dirty, unswept and dusty, so we didn't use it. We didn't use the kitchen either. The drop-off area is by the guardhouse because private hire cars can't enter the car park, which made it troublesome to manage our luggage and small children. The Grab driver who took us home also said he'd heard many unpleasant comments from guests and described the apartment as dirty and poorly maintained. The booking.com reviews had said it was clean, comfortable and convenient, but sadly that wasn't true.

The condo's location is handy, with a Starbucks right downstairs and various dining options nearby. The pool was a nice place to relax. I booked through Airbnb. Although the building was constructed in 2017, it still seemed sparsely occupied, and many shops in the neighboring Beletime Mall were closed, likely because there wasn't much foot traffic. The mall has a cinema, but it seemed to draw very few people. The parking area is spacious, though dim and confusing to navigate.
