Zen Zeng Hotel

The service attitude was completely below standard. I booked through Agoda the day before, marked it as a late check-in, and arrived at 5am, but they wouldn't let me in until 2pm. They say they offer 24-hour check-in, so where was that when I had a booking? They said checking in then meant paying the original room price, 98rm, plus 45rm for early check-in. They wouldn't take a card, only bank transfer or cash for the deposit. Very laid back. The room itself was so-so for a budget hotel, so don't expect many amenities. There was no drinking water, but otherwise it was reasonable for a night's sleep if that's all you need.

For a one-night stay, the room was comfortable enough, and the Wi-Fi worked well. I also appreciated the Coway water dispenser. I booked the Family Room, though, and was disappointed that the sheets and pillowcases were stained and dirty. The towels looked yellowish-black instead of clean white, which was off-putting.

The location felt secluded, and outside could be creepy at night, but parking was easy and food and popular spots were close by. The room was spacious, with nice flooring, and the air conditioning stayed cold even during the day. We were there for one night, three friends in all. Service was a bit poor because it took a long time to find our room key.

The aircon worked well, and the bathroom was okay, though the shower only came up to neck level. There’s no bottled water in the room, and you’ll need Grab since there’s no bus station nearby. Grab was quick to book and affordable. They take a 50RM deposit and refund it after checkout. It’s really just a budget place to sleep, so check the pillows and blanket first. Ours were dirty, and they just flipped the pillow over to show the clean side.
