Geobay Hotel

I booked through Agoda and was told check-in was at 2 PM, but it was nearly 3 and I was still waiting. On the weekend there was just one Malay girl serving everyone, and she said our room had only just been sent for cleaning, so we had to wait. I came to visit JB, not to spend my travel time sitting around at this lousy hotel. The check-in was far too slow. Wouldn’t recommend booking here. Save your time, you deserve better.

The next day after lunch, we came back to find our door not fully closed. Thankfully our room was beside a protruding wall, so it wasn’t obvious. When I asked about checking in early, the staff member just repeated that yesterday, today, and tomorrow were full, so no early check-in. I hadn’t realized I owed them money. The staff came across as passive aggressive, and the security situation worried me.

I’ve stayed here many times and was usually served by a very polite gentleman, so this visit was a disappointment. The two ladies I encountered at check-in on 02/04 and check-out on 03/04 had no smiles or thanks and acted as if I owed them money. They also returned only 100 of my 120 deposit; I had to point it out, and there was no apology. Management should look into this. I’ve seen many reviews about these two ladies. Why work in customer service without basic courtesy?

I booked through Agoda, but when I arrived I wasn’t happy with the room and asked to upgrade. The counter staff were difficult to communicate with and had a bad attitude. They said they couldn’t upgrade me because the Agoda payment was non-refundable, so I’d have to pay cash at the counter for the upgrade. In the end I left and lost the money I’d already paid. A very bad experience.
