The location was the one drawback for us. There were no convenience stores or food stalls outside, just government buildings. Otherwise, it was a very comfortable stay. We had a really clean room with comfortable beds, a spotless bathroom, a lovely design, and excellent AC. Our unit had one double bed, two single beds, and a small living area, which worked well for our family. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Our elderly family members stayed in a wheelchair-accessible room. We were impressed by the accessibility features, including grab bars, handrails, and a shower with a built-in transfer seat. We’d never seen such thoughtful facilities in a hotel before.

We had a positive experience and will come back. Odd-numbered rooms have a better view, and there are plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports beside the bed, which was a plus. The hotel has been newly renovated, and the rooms are clean and sizeable. The TV doesn’t support casting. The breakfast buffet was good value, but the cafe is small, so try to go early to avoid the crowd. The walls are very thin, so they provide ear plugs.

Guests with heavy luggage may want to use e-hailing to reach the hotel, though there’s also a pre-arranged shuttle between the hotel and JB CIQ from 11am to 8pm daily. It’s about a 15-min walk from JB CIQ if you cut through the sheltered walkway beside Public Bank building. The hotel is good value, with attentive staff who respond to requests and questions. It doesn’t feel like a traditional Holiday Inn Express, with a nice reception and lively dining area. Breakfast was good too.

Kishen made our stay especially memorable. He was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. He even upgraded us from a standard room to a suite as a birthday surprise, and his thoughtful gesture and professionalism made a real difference. The location was convenient for nearby attractions, shopping, and food. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the excellent service made the stay relaxing. We had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express Johor and would highly recommend it.

I stayed here for the second time on a business trip, and I’m satisfied again. The room was clean, comfortable, stylish, and had all the basic amenities. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted good. I also liked the socket safety covers near the wash basin and kettle, and the DOVE bath and shampoo. The TV was placed too high, though, and I hope they lower it. I’ll come back for my next business trip.
