The hotel felt modern and was really clean, and they provided plenty of drinking water, which was a nice touch. But noise was a major problem. Loud karaoke on both nights made it impossible to sleep. I could also hear hallway conversations and toilets flushing because the soundproofing was poor. The doors were very heavy and hard to pull open.
I haven’t even checked in yet. I’d been waiting in the lobby for hours when I asked for water. They told me this was a budget hotel and they didn’t do hospitality, and that I’d get water in my room. I’d just travelled from overseas, was thirsty and desperate for a drink, and there was a dispenser right in front of me. I asked for a cup so I could get water, but they wouldn’t give me one. No consideration for me as a person at all. I wonder if they’re actually human beings. The worst experience I’ve had in Malaysia so far.
I called the hotel a few times before coming, but nobody answered. Then I arrived to find a staff member asleep, lying on the sofa like it was her own house. I don’t know what kind of management this is.
There are lots of restaurants nearby, and the hotel is good value for the money. It's harder to find a convenience store, though, and there are plenty of massage parlors around. Basic amenities are there, but the air conditioning takes a while to cool down and the shower water wasn't very hot.
The room's water heater was great, but the bed was uncomfortable and the air conditioner compressor outside was really noisy. Music from painters working outside was also loud enough to disturb our rest. Check-in was the worst part: the receptionist, a Malay girl, had a bad attitude and treated customers disrespectfully.
