Euro Rich Hotel Skudai

The inside was a letdown for the price. There were stains and patch marks on the room ceiling, blankets and towels cluttered the walkways, and the whole place smelled unpleasantly of smoke. From outside, the hotel looks nice.

The hallway was narrow, and with no lift we had to haul our bags up the stairs. Inside, the place was tiny and really run down despite looking good outside. It smelled of cigarettes, and the receptionist was unhelpful with a bad attitude. I wouldn't really recommend it, so don't get fooled by the exterior.

After 11pm there was nobody at the desk or downstairs to contact when we wanted to switch rooms, so we ended up leaving. Loud street music carried on late and made sleep difficult, and cigarette smoke smelled strong in both the room and hallways. Not a good fit for families or light sleepers.

The bed and toilet were clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. The rate was cheap and the location was good, but the floors and furniture were a bit worn. Also, the street noise was INSANEEEE, with motorbikers racing and revving until around 1+am. If you're in a room with a window, ask for one facing the back instead of the street. They also charged an extra 10MYR per night in cash as tax, even though it had already been paid through the online booking platform, so be prepared. The wall looked like someone had kissed it, and the aircon seemed like it had never been cleaned.
