Super OYO 90039 Coop Hotel Kangar

I was cancelled on just before I arrived, and it left me in a difficult spot. I just wouldn’t stay in an OYO. If you want to risk that, good luck.

The location is the strongest point. Many Kangar attractions are close by, and masjid alwi is only a five-minute walk away. My first room looked like it was still being renovated, with a strong paint smell and an unfinished paint job. The TV didn’t work, and cleanliness was an issue too. The next day, a power trip meant I had to move rooms. The second room was much better, but had no window, so it should have been cheaper.

The room itself was dusty, and the toilet smelled bad. I’m not sure if it was the water tank or something else, but the drain was clogged too. The entrance to room 101 was unpleasant. I stayed just one night, and the hotel location was its only real plus, with plenty of cafes and a market nearby for food and shopping. I paid RM91 through Agoda. The regular RM145 price feels too high. RM91 seemed reasonable for a family of four, but given the condition of the room, I think they should lower the price.

We had to switch rooms because ours had no lights and the plugs weren’t working. The floor and bed were covered in black hair that wasn’t ours, and the room smelled bad and had mold. The staff helped us change rooms, but at first they tried to charge us extra. I’d avoid staying here.
