The noise was noticeable during the day, since voices and footsteps carried along the hallway. There’s no carpet there, and getting to the room means taking the stairs. For drinking water, bring a small jug or thermos downstairs to the dispenser beside the reservation counter. You can buy bottled mineral water at the counter, but none is supplied in the room.

Restaurants and convenience stores are only a few steps away, and the room was clean and comfortable enough for a night or two. It’s on the small side, but at RM58.30 a night it felt worth the price. The counter asks for RM100 for the room fee and deposit. The main downside was the very limited TV channel selection.

A handy clean place to stop over before heading somewhere else. There are restaurants and entertainment nearby, too.

The staff, housekeeping included, were friendly and accommodating. Rooms are cheap, though tourism tax is affecting prices across the board. I’d choose a larger room since it’s only RM10 more. Maybe the government should review the tax policy for mid-range hotels and help their business model?

At rm 75, it works for a budget overnight stay if you’re just passing through. I’d call it more of a motel than a hotel. Bring your own towel and whatever else you need, since there are no toiletries, and the mattress sheet looks old. A good restaurant with musical performance is next door, and there’s a Bistro across the road, so expect noise at night and a challenge finding parking. Keningau is a lively town with plenty of budget hotels and motels.
