Bertam Resort & Water Park Penang

We had a relaxing family break, and the staff were friendly and helpful the whole time. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious with plenty of variety. I liked the Moroccan-inspired look and all the nice OOTD spots. I managed to take a few photos, but our stay was short, so I didn’t have time to shoot every angle and spot. I was disappointed that I couldn’t fly high in their hot balloon. Still, it was a lovely experience, and I’d be happy to return.

We loved how peaceful and memorable the stay was. At night the lights around the building and pool made the resort feel magical, and the large swimming pool was great for relaxing and having fun. The playroom kept everyone entertained too. Our room had a private bathtub and a smart mirror that closed automatically, a really nice touch. The Moroccan-inspired decor looked beautiful throughout the hotel and in the room. We also took photos by the decorations outside our room before checking out. Bertam Water Park is nearby, which makes this a handy place for families wanting both downtime and adventure.

Weekday visits are great, with hardly any queues and unlimited turns on the many big slides. The waterpark was clean and well maintained, and I got the tickets at a really good promotional price, worth every penny. There’s a cozy cafe inside that isn’t too expensive, plus clean toilets for changing and washing up. Lockers can be rented and paid for by card. Bring RM10 cash for the float rental deposit. Parking for the whole day was RM7.

During the school holidays it was very crowded, so the parking right by the hotel filled up fast. We had to park farther from the main lobby. More buggy trips, or a larger parking area by the entrance, would help. The hotel could also improve the internet and in-room entertainment. That said, our family had a really enjoyable stay. The Moroccan-themed resort has lots of photo spots, the room was clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the staff were helpful. The pool is huge, and the water park is next to the hotel. A good choice for a small family.
