Première Hotel

I’ve stayed at Premiere Hotel Bukit Tinggi three times now when work brings me to Klang, and I’ve usually been comfortable here. Check-in last Friday night was easy, and the front desk staff were welcoming. This visit still fell short of what I expect, though, and it was disappointing compared with my earlier stays. The room’s Astro channels kept showing a “SIM Card Error,” leaving only TV1 and TV2 available for the whole stay. That’s below what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Then on Saturday afternoon, drilling noise from renovation work on Level 16 interrupted me while I was doing online work. Nobody mentioned the renovations at check-in, and the noise was distracting. Guests may be resting or working, so I don’t think Saturday afternoon drilling without advance notice is acceptable. There was also a mix-up between reception and housekeeping. I left around 9am and asked reception to make up the room. When I got back in the afternoon, housekeeping seemed not to know the room’s status and asked whether I was checking out, even though I’d extended my stay and my key had been updated. I ended up letting them clean while I was in the room, which felt uncomfortable. I still like the hotel and keep coming back, but I hope management addresses renovation notices, maintenance issues, and coordination between departments.

Some of the rooms feel old, but they’re still okay. I like the upgraded one because I can charge my devices without an adapter. The standard room is fine too.

The rooms have different themes on each floor, and the location right by the main road makes getting around easy. Staff are cooperative, especially Suchitra, who covered my taxi fare when I couldn’t get foreign currency and trusted me to repay her. The restaurant stays open until 10.30 pm, but I’d go before 8.30 for better service. They have a dinner buffet and don’t serve alcohol.

Room 507 was a terrible experience. The air conditioning only blew warm air. I reported it to the Careline, waited an hour with no response, called again, then waited another hour. Eventually they told me the room had a problem. Why give a customer a defective room? Nobody from maintenance came to check the A/C, and nobody from management came to see what was wrong. The bathroom fittings were faulty too, with a tap that wasn’t fixed properly. They provided shampoo but no shower gel. The staff’s response felt despicable, with no accountability. Avoid this hotel if you can. If you have to stay, check that the A/C works before unpacking. Management seemed to stall, leaving you to unpack and making it harder to move to another hotel.
