Prime City Hotel Kluang

04/03/26, 9.00 pm. The bed was very dirty, with what felt like sand on it. When I asked one of the young guys if the room had been fixed, he said yes, but I later found it hadn't been. He was very rude. I'm paying for my stay, not asking for a free one, so please show some respect. This could be the worst hotel in the area.

The view from the 12th floor was good, and it wasn't too expensive. But this place is run down, with peeling wallpaper in the rooms. The pool itself was pleasant, though the area around it looked old. Sound carries everywhere because the rooms and corridors have tiled floors and almost no soundproofing, so even kids playing at 1am were very loud. Breakfast was sparse and nothing to get excited about. Booking.com charged us extra for it even though the hotel's signs said it was included for Booking.com customers. It was somewhere to sleep for the night.

For a business trip, this was a practical place to stay, with spacious, generally clean rooms and restaurants within walking distance. I didn't book breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Parking is free from the 4th floor up, and the lift goes directly to the room floors, which made getting around easy. The hotel is quite old, though: the furniture, fittings, and interior show their age. Everything worked, but the room and bathroom would be more comfortable with updated finishes and renovation. It's acceptable for a short work trip if convenient parking and nearby food are priorities, but an update would improve the stay a lot.

The room was spacious, but I couldn't tell whether the renovation was finished. It's an old hotel, and I was sad to see how much worse it seemed than when I last came in 2010. The place isn't well maintained. The bathroom was okay, but the ceiling had mold and the door wouldn't lock. The room door's safety chain was damaged, as if someone had kicked the door while it was locked. Please repair it for guest safety. The room lighting was very dim, there wasn't a channel selection, and the screen was blurry. The ironing board was old and should be replaced. The elevator worked well enough, but its window needs cleaning. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and it's close to the famous Kluang Railway Station Coffee Shop.
