Assalam Hotel

Assalam Hotel turned out to be a great value for a budget visit to Kota Bharu. The rooms are spacious enough that you don't feel cramped, and there's plenty of parking, so I didn't have to worry about the car. For the price, the accommodation was surprisingly good.

What really stood out was how the management handled our problem. We spent 7 hours in pitch dark without air conditioning, but they took it seriously and acted straight away. I appreciate that they gave us a reasonable discount for the uncomfortable time trying to rest and sleep. Their response was honest and prompt. Please check the room we stayed in and fix the problem so it doesn't happen again. With the respectful, good-vibe management, this should be one of Kota Baru's top budget hotels. Recommended. The room itself was very clean, had no smell, and was simply but thoughtfully decorated. The air conditioning worked well, the lights were bright, and the necessary facilities were there. The toilet was clean and odor-free, with a good water heater, flow and shower. The towels and bedding were fresh and crisp. Reception, both the man with glasses and the young lady, were warm, polite, helpful and always smiling. The housekeeping guy was helpful too. There's a shoe rack outside the room and a water dispenser on the ground floor. A couple of hooks on the door and in the toilet would be useful.

As soon as I saw the water dispenser beside the elevator on the ground floor, I was already impressed. Then we walked into the room and thought, "this is spacious!" They also provide a shoe rack outside, a kettle, iron and ironing board, some 3-in-1 drinks, towels, shower cream and shampoo. The TV channels, water heater and air conditioning all worked fine. Keep it up, Assalam Hotel!

It was my first time booking a hotel. For a solo trip, this is suitable for a 2-3 star hotel, and the room condition was very satisfactory. The hotel is very clean, with cleanliness clearly a priority. I wouldn't say the parking was great, I'd rate it 5 out of 10. It's on the main road into Kota Bharu, which is quite busy at 7 am. The facilities are a bit lacking, so I don't think it's suitable for families.
