Flypod Hotel

The room was small, but we slept fine, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s also very close to the airport. Still, after my night flight from KL, I was surprised to find a queen bed in a windowless room instead of what I’d booked on Agoda, even though I’d told the hotel I’d arrive late. Finding the room was confusing too, since it was in a different unit from the lobby. Staff pointed out the lift, but didn’t take us there, so I had to go back and ask where it was.

The room itself was clean and comfortable. The problems started when the air conditioner leaked and soaked my phone and charger. The hotel was fully booked, so they offered my friend and me two small rooms with single beds. That didn’t feel like an equal replacement for the original room in value or comfort. When I reported the leak, the front desk said they couldn’t refund me and told me to contact the booking platform. There was also a sharp edge or extension on the bathroom wall by the door, making it hard to close from outside and potentially unsafe. I hope the hotel reviews that design. Cleanliness was good, but the way the problems were handled and the lack of attention to bathroom safety were disappointing. I hope both service and safety improve.

The room was so humid, and the ceiling was covered in mold. It was hard to breathe. There were stains on the sheets and towels too. Don’t stay here just for the airport, KK is a small town, and there are lots of better hotels in the city centre.

People were hanging around in the hallway charging phones, and the broken access control meant there was no secure barrier from outsiders. We also found rodents in the room. Noise was another big problem: you could hear every vehicle on the street, along with planes taking off and landing in the middle of the night. When we raised concerns, the front desk staff were harsh. At first they refused a refund and said there were no other rooms, then suggested two people share one room. Do not choose this hotel.
