I’ve stayed here many times over the last 30 years. The location is very handy for the offices I visit, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the rooms are good value. One Kota Kinabalu issue, unrelated to this hotel, is the council’s move to pay-by-phone parking. I don’t own a mobile phone, so I borrowed a friend’s this time. In future I may have to stay somewhere else or not rent a car!

It’s good value, with a stay that’s pretty satisfactory and not too expensive. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the famous Filipino market and Pasar Besar are close. Suria Mall and some older malls are also just a short walk away.

At night, the Wi-Fi was too weak for online meetings. The hot water also took at least 10 minutes to come through.

The location is excellent and the price may be competitive. The Superior room is just wide enough for two, but parking is limited. I’d booked a city view room and was given one with a window but no view. They did agree to move me. The room was acceptably clean, though there were no toiletries apart from bath soap, and the TV didn’t work. Also, unlike other hotels of a similar standard, the receptionist wouldn’t give us two key cards when we asked. With two people in the room, having a card each would be more convenient.
