The Loft Residence at Imago KK Times Square

A quick walk to Imago Mall is the main thing going for this hotel. The AC and hot water worked fine. The room smelled, the curtains were dusty, and the TV didn’t work. The shower was badly designed and didn’t drain, so water leaked all the way to the front door. Hallways were run down with chipped paint, and the stairs and carpets were dirty. The location is handy, right by Imago Mall and surrounded by restaurants. Check-in was quick, the staff were friendly, and the deposit was only RM50. But for RM175+, the room was in poor condition. It looked old and badly maintained, with old stains on the walls, a not-very-clean bathroom, a damaged shower door, a cracked sink and stains inside the toilet bowl. The towels and sheets didn’t feel fresh. I’d expected a bathtub from the booking photos, but my deluxe king room didn’t have one. There was no hair dryer or Wi-Fi information, and the mini fridge was tucked away in a cabinet. I was on the 5th floor and could hear planes at night. The layout was awkward too: the lobby and rooms are in separate areas, so after checking in you have to go outside, use stairs, then take a very small lift. After showering my skin started itching, and I kept scratching in my sleep. It didn’t feel hygienic, and I suspect the mattress or bedding needs a better clean. The location and friendly staff were the only good parts for me. There are better options in KK for this price, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

We came back after covid 19 and it was terrible compared with before. The place seemed broken, dirty and run down. The hotel hadn’t given advance notice that there would be no hot water. It felt like a scam.

If you have a stroller or lots of luggage, I’d avoid this hotel. The lift is narrow, and to reach it you have to leave the lobby, walk outside and climb stairs first. There’s no parking either. The room key caused trouble as soon as we arrived. They still use traditional keys, not access cards, and it often gets stuck unless you twist it just right. It’s frustrating to have to line up the key’s teeth just to get into your room. Reception staff were inattentive and unhelpful. I’d look for another hotel.
