Lavender Lodge

I had a six-bed male dorm to myself for three nights, which was lucky. The price was reasonable, the room was clean, and the bathroom had hot water with decent shower pressure. Wi-Fi was mostly okay, depending on the time of day. They also had free filtered water, coffee and tea. The location worked well, a few minutes on foot to the waterfront or city centre and about 15 minutes to the ferry terminal. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially David, who gave me guidance and helped me find accommodation at the Kinabalu Geopark.

We only planned on staying two nights, then ended up here for six. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location was great. Daniel and the staff were always ready to help and offer guidance during our stay. Thanks so much, Daniel and team. Kind regards from your Argentine guests.

We liked this homestay so much we came back twice on our return to KK. It's right in central Kota Kinabalu, about five minutes from the night fishmarket and Gaya street. Our room was quiet, really comfortable and very clean. The owners were lovely and helped us with everything we needed.

The staff at Lavender Lodge were unusually friendly, thoughtful and supportive, and we had a great time being hosted there. If it's your first stop in Sabah, Borneo, you can ask them for help planning your time whether you already know what you want to do or not. Thanks for all the help with planning and hosting us. Hope lavender flourishes for years to come. We gave it five stars across the board, the price for what you get is just great.
