OYO 738 Hotel 81

The male staff member at check-in was rude and racist. He refused to let me check in, saying Expedia hadn’t notified the hotel. I showed him the email on my phone, but he still didn’t believe me. He took my phone from me, saying he wanted to read the email, and spent hours with it. I believe he accessed my private information. When I asked why, he didn’t answer. Instead, he shouted that I was from semenanjung and that the hotel didn’t accept people from the peninsula. What kind of thing is that? I told him I wanted to speak to his manager, but he refused to give me the manager’s number and told me to deal with Expedia. That was irresponsible and completely rude. I said I would report his threats and racist remarks to the police. The manager should fire him before I take legal action.

I needed to iron my clothes for something important this morning, but the hotel has only one iron. I told the male staff member about it last night, and he didn’t make sure I got it back. This morning he said, “kami tidak boleh ketuk pintu sesuka hati.” I’m really upset. Please do something, you ruined my day.

Bundusan has lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs, so it could suit you if you’re after nightlife. I barely heard any pub noise during my stay, though, so that night wasn’t very “syok.” The hotel itself was just okay. It’s a bit far from Kota Kinabalu, and for a cheap hotel, I didn’t find the price that cheap. Still, it was OK laaa.

The location is far from the city centre, and the staff don’t speak English. The water, WiFi and air conditioning weren’t working when I checked in, and I had to ask them to fix the aircon. This will be my first and last stay at OYO 738 Hotel 81 or Hotel 81 Bunduan, which are two names for the same hotel.
