We've stayed here whenever my family visits town, and we've always liked the location and had a good experience. The room is clean, and the housekeeping and front desk teams are friendly and efficient. This festive season, though, renovations were going on during our stay. The drilling and knocking carried on until 7:30 pm and began again at 8 am, which was disruptive on a holiday. It would be good if the hotel kept things quiet on Christmas Eve and public holidays, when guests may be trying to rest and spend time with family. Everything else was fine, but families with babies or young children who need daytime naps or an early night might want to avoid booking during renovation work.

The renovation turned out great. But when I switch on the ceiling-mounted exhaust fan, the toilet starts to smell. Could it be a plumbing design problem or a cleanliness issue?

My room was clean and the hotel is in a handy location, but the service could be better. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and the first room had problems with the air conditioning and drainage. I had to ask three times before they changed my room.

The rooms were surprisingly quiet given the location, and the hotel was comfortable and well placed. They'd told us ahead of time that there was no baby cot, so we could make other plans. There's no breakfast, but plenty of good food nearby, and the free water in glass bottles in the room came in handy.
