The Aru by Ayuhouz

The bathroom water pressure was quite weak. Filling the bathtub took ages, and the hot water ran out halfway through, then took a while to come back. We were on the top floor in a Seaview Deluxe Room next to the rooftop pool, which was handy. The partial sea view was lovely, and the pool area gives you a great place to watch the sunset in good weather. The water was clean and well maintained, though there wasn’t much supervision, and some kids jumped in and splashed around without following pool etiquette. The room was next to a boys’ school. Soundproofing was decent, but the morning announcements still came through clearly. The king bed was very comfortable, and the smart TV had Netflix. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the stay matched what we expected from the hotel’s online description. Local coffee shops are within walking distance, and food delivery is easy to order. The hotel is a little away from the town center, about a 10-minute taxi ride, but being near the seaside and away from city traffic made it peaceful. It’s also very close to the airport, which suited us well for our early flight. We had a very satisfying stay, with little else to complain about.

Aru Suites used to be my go-to because it was clean and well located, so this recent stay was especially disappointing. I was in a rundown, unhygienic room on the 8th floor. The wallpaper was peeling, the walls had mold, and cockroaches were crawling over the carpet and sofa. There wasn’t even a trash can in the bathroom, which is a basic necessity. I’ll include photos to show the room’s condition. Guests shouldn’t have to expect this, especially from a place that had previously kept good standards. I hope management takes the problem seriously and improves room maintenance and cleanliness. After this, I’m reconsidering staying there again.

The rooms were really nice, and the service was great. The uncle security guards were so kind and helped my family park and get the key to our room. Getting through the car parking vent gate thing was difficult at first, but you get used to it. When ordering food packages, sit on the long bench, not the other bench. I had no other trouble getting inside. I think they should add a microwave and rice cooker. Five stars, I love this hotel and really recommend it for a vacation hotel day! EDIT: I planned to come back, but why did someone have to jump off near the hotel and die by suicide? I feel bad. I’m not changing my review, but the ghost of the person who died by suicide here ruined my plan.

The room was okay overall, but quite a few things made the stay uncomfortable. The balcony wasn’t clean enough for me, and some flooring was uneven or lifted slightly. The switches were confusing because some turn on by flipping down and others by flipping up. There was bad peeling on the wall below the air conditioner, probably from water dripping. The bedside lamp was bent and its cover didn’t sit right. I also had trouble switching the shower ceiling outlet to the overhead shower. I stayed in 8-18, floor 8, room 18. Hopefully management can fix these issues for future guests.
