The bathroom needs a plumber badly. Water leaks from the WC, the sink on the other side of the bathroom wall, and when flushing, so the floor is always wet. Aside from that, Bodhi Lodge is basic but okay for budget-conscious travelers. The double room had a comfy bed and clean sheets, the Wi-Fi was reliable and fast, a towel was provided, and the air conditioning worked well. Gigi was friendly and helpful, and the cats sleep most of the time. It’s very close to Bangsar station. As pictured, enter at gate 18A beside the car repair shop and go to the first floor. There’s no Bodhi Lodge sign on the door, but look up for the violet ad. Inside, it’s a messy corridor with a few rooms, and you need to take off your shoes at the entrance. There are cool restaurants and cafes on the same street, with more in the Bangsar hills area. It’s okay if you have basic needs and no prejudices, or if you have a bus to Singapore leaving from Bangsar.

Gigi and the other hosts were lovely, and Gigi was helpful and flexible when we arrived in the middle of the night. The location is handy for the LRT, with local eateries nearby serving nice food at cheap prices, plus a couple of convenience stores. The room and accommodation are basic, but the air conditioning works well. Cute cats, and hot and cold water are available for guests.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and Bodhi lodge feels like going back home. It’s a place to experience Malaysian hospitality. Owner Gege is helpful and shares lots of useful information about restaurants and attractions. If you’ll arrive late, contact Gege in advance. The entrance is near the car workshop and can be easy to miss at night. P.S. She has some adorable cats.

I liked how quiet the place was, but it doesn’t offer breakfast. You can only order it through the tenant, who will buy it for you. I booked a quadruple room with a shared bathroom, and the other guests’ toiletries bothered me. A few toilet doors were broken while I was there: one wouldn’t close all the way, and another wouldn’t lock at all. I hope they’ve fixed them.

The hostel had listed an old address, and it was already closed when we got there. They put us in a room in the back building that was dirty and smelled bad, and the aircon wasn't working. I was so disappointed. After a few hours, I went out and found another hotel. I didn't cancel the booking, though. Maybe they really needed the money.
