Flora by Crossroads Hotel

The hotel was poorly maintained. I booked two rooms for three days and two nights, but after reading reviews, I stayed only a couple of hours before checking out immediately. The interior felt dull, the bathroom was moldy, and the bed and pillow sheets smelled bad and had a stain almost like blood. We’d planned to spend most of the day out enjoying KL, but I put a warning sign in the room as a precaution. We later decided not to stay because it felt too risky. My main concern was safety after reading reviews alleging that staff or housekeeping had repeatedly entered guests’ rooms without reason and switched someone’s AirPods for fakes, among other things. I had valuables with me and would rather lose the cost of two rooms for three days than risk that. The in-room safe didn’t reassure me because staff could obviously reset it. They also ask for a refundable rm.50 deposit and a non-refundable tourist tax of rm.10 per night, if I understood correctly.

The smell was awful as soon as I walked in, and it was even worse in the room. Everything felt old and dirty, with lots of things not working and nothing like the pictures. I booked two nights but left after one because it was so bad. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Run away, there are plenty of better places in KL for around the same price.

The city view was blocked by some random building, so not much of a view. The room was very dim and didn’t block sound. The bathroom window and bathroom itself were moldy, and the toilet was frosted glass, which didn’t offer much privacy. No slippers were provided, not even for the bathroom.

At first, I thought the hotel was horrible, so forgive me. But the staff were accommodating, nice, and responsive, which made it feel worth the price. We stayed almost a week, and it was okay overall and budget friendly.
