The area is convenient for resources, though there are many junkies around, so be careful. The room I rented was small, and so was the toilet, which also dripped. Noise at night was so bad that I never got a proper night's sleep. I asked management to move me, but they ignored the request. I was already struggling with my studies, and staying there added more stress. Management seemed to care only when they wanted money. They wouldn't discuss things or compromise, and there was no service. The kitchen utensils provided couldn't be used. Also, this place is no longer called Hotel Grand Maria, that's just a reference name.

It's now coliving accommodation, not a hotel. The location is handy, within walking distance of the bus station and train, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. But there are many junkies and beggars outside, and the surroundings are dirty. My room was okay, but the building is right beside the road, so motorcycles and cars are very noisy at night. The agent said the rooms were soundproof, but the windows are thin. I haven't had a good night's sleep since moving in. The shared kitchen has lots of cockroaches, and once a rat got into my room, so don't keep food there. Other tenants steal food, and the kitchen camera doesn't work. I'm glad I'm only here for six months and can't wait for my contract to end. This was one of the biggest mistakes I've made, and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

The room was nice, though I spotted leftover cotton buds and it wasn't very clean. I booked a deluxe twin through OYO. The toilet door has no lock, and there's no water heater. Since it's beside the main road and traffic lights, motorcycles accelerating in the middle of the night make a lot of noise.

The triple room was small but clean and comfortable. It's near PWTC Lrt station and Chow Kit monorail station, and could suit someone on a tight budget. We had to pay RM48 for parking over our two-night stay because the hotel doesn't provide customer parking. There was no breakfast while renovations were underway.

The air conditioning in my room was a joke and didn't seem to work. Breakfast was nowhere to be found, though the lobby looked nice, with bright walls and dining tables and chairs. The staff were very uneducated and rude.
