I don’t recommend visiting this hotel. The receptionist, Anwar Ahmed, showed no respect and wouldn’t answer customers’ questions. Instead, he asked questions as if he were a judicial investigator. I asked him to let me see the rooms, but he wouldn’t allow a woman and a man. There was one man going into the bathroom and... an old woman, they hear, they want to hear, I mean the look of the crazy ones. Thank you.

The location works well if you want to be near the bars by Alor Street, though it takes a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest MRT. The front door attendant was quite friendly, but the 50 ringgit room deposit felt a bit high. I also can’t really judge the cleanliness: the room looked clean, though the bed didn’t seem properly cleaned. My single room was tiny, maybe 3 by 2.5 meters, with the toilet inside. It’s so small that a big or fat person might not fit, no offense. I stayed five nights and had two major annoyances. The manual door lock was broken, so I didn’t feel very safe, and a few times it seemed like someone was trying to open the door. The soundproofing also needs work. It felt like there were no walls: you could hear people talking in the alley or next door, and some children cried all night. I need privacy when I travel, which is why I booked a room alone, but I couldn’t speak freely because people could hear me.

I switched hotels right away. The bathroom door wouldn’t even close, the staff were super unfriendly, and the place wasn’t clean. I asked for a lower floor and got the highest one. Don’t trust the pictures or stay here. For this price, you can get somewhere better.

The location is handy for shops and street food, and the staff were friendly and polite. As a budget hotel, it’s okay if you’re trying to save, but there’s plenty that could be improved, especially the cleaning and service. The room looked much smaller in person than online, and felt cramped. The shower and toilet could use a better clean. My towels had stains even though they smelled fresh, and I found a cockroach in the room, which was disgusting and made me think it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The wall sockets didn’t work, so I had to use the TV socket. I told reception, but they just advised me to use that one, which was disappointing. It was noisy too, and I could hear people talking downstairs. I didn’t try the breakfast, so I can’t say what it’s like.
