LUMA At Platinum Suite

The calm atmosphere and the overall quality of Platinum Hotel Luma made our stay a pleasure. Our room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully designed, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything was well organized, and the service was attentive and professional. We’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, pleasant stay.

Getting around was easy from LUMA Suite, with KLCC Park and the MRT station close by. The infinity pool was the standout for us, especially the stunning KLCC view. Check-in and checkout both went smoothly. I’d read that some guests had to leave a deposit and wait 10-20 minutes to get it back at checkout, so I was prepared. Since I booked through Airbnb, though, they didn’t ask me for one, and leaving was much quicker and easier. We had a wonderful stay and I’d come back.

I’ve traveled widely and booked through plenty of platforms, but I’ve never had trouble like this checking in. I booked through Agoda and arrived with an accurate reference number and contact details, yet the hotel staff refused to verify the reservation because my first name wasn’t on my passport. The rest of my name matched perfectly. The receptionist, Mavila, was hostile as well as unfriendly. Instead of helping, she told me to leave a one-star review and said it was hotel policy. The whole interaction was unprofessional and deeply disappointing. If you want a smooth check-in and courteous service, I’d advise against staying here.

The elevators were a regular problem. Sometimes we waited ten minutes just to reach our floor, and the conditions were uncomfortable. Staff, from parking security to the counter and pool guard, were rude and disrespectful. This is a serviced apartment that presents itself as luxurious, not a hotel. There was an undisclosed RM 500 security deposit, and the visitor parking charges weren’t stated correctly. Staff seemed more concerned with warning us about fines and penalties. They may charge up to 500 if there’s any issue. The room didn’t feel clean, and neither did the dishes or cookware. I wouldn’t recommend it.
