Hotel O D'Elegant

The location was the only good point, though the night market ran until 5am, so we couldn't sleep. The whole hotel was filthy, and there was mould on the room walls. The bedding was dirty, the towels torn, and the room reeked of smoke. We weren't asking for much, just a clean room and whole towels. There was no toilet roll either. Absolutely vile.

The manager was a bit rude and flatly refused to give me any document for the RM 50 security deposit, though it was refunded at checkout. The location is good, and the price matches the service. I'd say it's suitable for storing luggage and staying no more than one night.

There was no water at all after around midnight, and the cigarette smell was awful. It clung to our clothes. The room was moldy, and the towel had holes in it. I know it's a budget hotel, but the price was close to a regular hotel, so please keep the rooms maintained.

Food was easy to find, with lots of stalls along Jalan Alor at night, and the staff were super friendly. As a local Malaysian, I didn't need directions, but I'm sure they'd help if you needed anything. I was travelling solo and found everything good. The location is right in the center of Jalan Alor. From the MRT, take exit A (Changkat/Jalan Alor exit), walk straight, then take the first left onto Jalan Alor. The hotel is on your left opposite Rich Carlton Hotel. Its sign is small and could be improved. The place is super clean and newly renovated, with clean floors and a well-prepared room. The water pressure is quite slow but usable, and there's hot water for showers. For the cheap price and comfort, I'd stay again if I get the chance. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
