Oyo 89576 Mokka Hotel

This place is very bare bones: basically a bed and a toilet. There was no tissue paper or spare toilet roll, the sheet had a small hole, and the shower pressure kept changing. The reception closes at night, so if you run out of toilet paper then, you’re stuck. I booked because I was going to a concert at Axiata. The uncle at reception said we could walk back after the show to avoid the traffic, but no one explained the route. Parts of the path Google Maps gave me didn’t seem to have a proper sidewalk, so it didn’t feel safe to walk. I wouldn’t book here for a concert.

There was no phone signal and the WiFi was bad. Worst of all, after booking there was nobody at reception. The door stays closed from 7pm until late, and I can’t understand a hotel without 24-hour reception. It was frustrating dealing with this service. My first and last time here.

We really enjoyed chatting with the owners. It felt personal, and the older uncle and the lady who run the place were both gentle and kind. The service was great, though the front desk may not be staffed late at night, so this might not work for anyone expecting quick service like a hotel chain. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with a beautiful view and peaceful surroundings. The soundproofing was amazing. There was no hot water in our room, so that’s something to keep in mind. If you like a slower pace and a bit of human connection, you’ll probably appreciate it. We’d definitely come again. Parking is in the basement and costs up to RM10.

The room was clean, and the price seemed fair for a three-star hotel. It’s a quiet and convenient spot on a high floor, just six minutes from stadium Bukit jalil, with plenty of food choices nearby. I wish they’d provide a hair dryer at check-in instead of making guests ask for one. Then it would be perfect.
