Seeds Hotel Premier Sri Petaling

The location is the one thing this hotel has going for it. Aside from beds that were made neatly, nothing improved my stay, and even a 2-star rating would feel generous. The property is dirty, tacky, outdated, and seems neglected. Any improvement work appears to have been abandoned unfinished and left in full view. It also lacks simple updates like modern charging points or universal phone docks for international guests. I manage a similar business, and the weak cleanliness standards and lack of proactive management are unacceptable. With better leadership, more attention to cleaning, and some investment, this could be a good place to stay, but it isn't there now. I've worked in this industry extensively and have seen hotels suffer when polished CVs are valued over genuine leadership and practical operating experience. Strong management is needed to keep standards up, and that is clearly missing here. This stay deserves 1 star or less.

The room itself had clean sheets and pillows, a firm mattress, a strong hair dryer, good water pressure, a clean toilet, and well-stocked tissues. Toothbrushes, coffee, tea, and drinking water were provided, and the AC worked well. We chose a large bed, which turned out to be two beds pushed together. We weren't bothered, and the firmness suited us. Getting luggage in from street parking was awkward because ropes blocked the area. We didn't want to pay RM15 for basement parking or RM30 for valet, but street parking needs to be paid for, as we saw lots of tickets on other cars. There was no fridge. The room smelled old and funky, with lingering smoke despite being a non-smoking room, as if someone had smoked and the smell hadn't fully gone away. The receptionist was friendly, though not very knowledgeable. There were also some dodgy people outside the hotel all day, ehem... business? We had a decent stay, not too bad, but not great either.

Check-in took around half an hour, and once inside, the room had lots of electrical problems. There was even a used condom in the trash from the previous guest. The hotel may look good from outside, but it's dirty and poorly maintained, and management isn't good either.

The staff were friendly, and the location is superb: Pinnacle, with the mitasu buffet and Korean buffet, is at one end of sri petaling, while Seeds Hotel is at the other, facing it. We paid about $60 a night for two nights in the presidential suite. It's huge, bigger than a two-room flat, with a living room, dining table, bedroom, and personal jacuzzi. The fridge was broken, and though we asked for it to be repaired the first night, it remained a problem. One toilet bowl was also broken, so we used the second bathroom. The safe deposit box didn't work either. This isn't a posh hotel, so anyone particular about cleanliness, amenities, and design may not find it suitable. Check-in also required a refundable RM20 deposit, and basement parking costs RM15 per day.
