Traffic around Hartamas at peak times is something to plan around, and you get used to it. Beyond that, this area suits people who like being active and moving between different parts of town. What works for me is the choice nearby. Publika in Dutamas is within walking distance, and the malls in Mont Kiara are a short drive away. Cafés, groceries and casual dining are easy to reach, so you can keep things low-key with a nearby coffee or errands, or head to Mont Kiara or Publika when you want more activity. Sri Hartamas, Mont Kiara and Dutamas feel like connected neighborhoods, giving the area a settled feel while keeping it well connected. You’re outside the busiest districts but can get to them when you want. That balance may suit young professionals, expats and people looking for a comfortable, move-in-ready place without feeling cut off. My card was charged through Booking.com, and my reservation was for October 24 through November 4. I arrived at exactly 3pm to check in, but nobody was there. For the next two hours I called the property repeatedly and got no response to calls or texts. There was no email or message warning me of a problem. Only then did I find out it was an AIR B AND B property handled by SM Sumira, although I had booked through Booking.com.com. I’m 72 and had ridden my motorbike for three hours to get there. With no warning, it was a terrible situation. I eventually reached someone at Booking.com, who got back to me 45 minutes later as promised. My reservation was cancelled, and I received an email saying they would help me find another room, but giving no reason. By then it was 9pm. Tired and sweaty, I paid 370myr for a room at the Dorsett Hotel at the other end of the Dorsett Residence lobby, even though I couldn’t afford it. I saw that the charge to my card was cancelled on October 31. I believe the hotel room cost should be reimbursed as well, and I expect an explanation and apology from SM Sumira or whoever is responsible. This poor handling has given Booking.com, Air B and B and SM SUMIRA a bad name.

This link is a scam. My last trip turned into a disaster, and no staff helped us sort out the issue. Staff knew about it, but Dorsett Resident Sri Hartamas took no action. Management should prevent this from happening again. I’m very curious why The Dorsett Resident Sri Hartamas management still hasn’t acted on this link and keeps letting it happen.

I booked Dorsett Hartamas Residence through Agoda and was scammed, so I never got to check in. The property still enforced its no-show cancellation policy, costing me a few hundred ringgit, while Agoda said it was beyond their control. I’d used Agoda for years without this kind of trouble, but the experience has seriously shaken my trust. I no longer feel the platform is reliable or trustworthy. Truly disappointing.
